10 Photos from October 2018

Well this month has been a rollercoaster. We started the month in Tulum, visiting ancient ruins and eating tacos. From there our travels took us to a beautiful family wedding in Cancun, then back to Italy where we’ve been practically hibernating the past couple weeks due to some sort of plague-like chest cold and massive work deadlines for both Mike and me. From the exotic to the incredibly mundane in just days.

Along the way we also celebrated Mike and my 34th birthdays (no pictures because we weren’t super festive this year) and our 1 year anniversary of arriving in Italy. Also a dash of Halloween. Oh yeah and multiple house guests.

I feel like I need to catch my breath just reading all that.

The family that buses together…
A girl in her element
I’ve always wanted to see Tulum, and now I have!
La Gran Cenote outside Tulum. Marcella refused to go in the water, but it was still pretty neat.
A windy, rainy, still beautiful family wedding on the beach
After two weeks of beautiful weather, we were hit by Tropical Storm Michael our last couple days in Cancun (yes, lots of jokes were made over the name).
Taking the high speed train from Milan back to Bologna
Back at home and back to work.
Bologna is just as gorgeous as ever. Maybe even more so in the Fall.
Biking in costume (as a pink dinosaur roar!)

November we’re sticking pretty close to home, aside from a trip to Austria at the very end of the month. Also, I maybe volunteered to host Thanksgiving? Gulp.

About Me

I’m a girl who can’t sit still. After nearly a decade of flitting around the world as a professional blogger and travel writer, I’ve settled into expat life in Bologna, Italy. I have a handsome husband, a floppy dog, and the best two year old in the world.

I blog professionally at Why Wait To See the World, and unprofessionally right here.
