And not a moment too soon.
We were so hopeful for March (especially with my Mom’s visit) but the month was stupidly uneven weather wise. First Bologna was hit with a snow storm- it’s second of the year (there had been no snow whatsoever the 4 winters prior I’m told). Then, waves of cold wet rain- the kind that make sightseeing miserable. There were a few sunny days in between the yucky ones, but it was generally not great.
Last week though, something changed. The sun came out, seemingly to stay this time. Temperatures are in the 60’s, flowers are blooming and people are even shedding their magnificent puffy coats to enjoy the sunshine.
That means we can finally take advantage of Giardini Margherita, Bologna’s major public park. We chose our apartment partly because it is mere blocks from the park, but up until now the area’s usefulness has been mostly theoretical.
We moved here in November and it has pretty much been rainy, snowy, cold weather ever since. Very excited to see what this city can do now!
We are so going to that park next time we come!
